Ants in bean bed

Looks like I've got an ants nest in my runner bean raised bed. As the beans have started growing I don't want to disturb the bed but I have sprinkled ant powder on the surface. Will they do any harm?

Re: Ants in bean bed

Ant powder should get rid of them, but all you need to do is disturb the nest - just jab a hoe in and without touching your beans just jab it in amongst the ants-one thing ants don't like is being diturbed. Go back the next day, and you should find them gone.

Re: Ants in bean bed

Thanks for your reply....I think I must have disturbed them already because they seem to have packed up and moved into the lawn. I can feel ant powder coming on...
