Broad Beans

I planted my broad bean seeds late October for a spring/early summer crop and they are already shooting up but something is eating them. There are holes in the middle of the leaves and the ends of leaves are being nibbled also. What can it be and will it have any long term effects? Thanks.

Re: Broad Beans

It's a fly / aphid is my guess. My cabbages have the same problem. In a couple of frosts time the flies will be killed so my advice is to leave them alone, they will grow on strongly in the spring.
