Bay tree with yellow leaves

I bought a containeer bay tree before Christmas. It is outside my front door facing east. Two months ago I found a few yellow leaves, I was told to give the tree a feed every two weeks of water/miracle grow. Since then, a lot more of the leaves have turned yellow. Have I overfed it? I checked the drainage holes in the pot and they seem fine.

I would be grateful for any pointers as I like the tree and I don't want it to die on me!

Re: Bay tree with yellow leaves

If it is not in a large planter, it most likely needs repotted, a two foot tall tree will require a 16" pot at a minimum.
Also, regardless of the osil, or potting mix, succesive waterings will eventually compact the soil
