pea moths

We have been overrun by pea moth larvae. The peas were sown in newly cultivated ground that had not grown crops other than docks and nettles for at least 20 years.
There are no pea crops in the immediate vicinity, say within 1/4 of a mile at least. About three out of four pods are affected. Looking on the pest site this is usually only about 1 in 15. As rotation was not applicable this year is there anything we could have done to prevent, bearing in mind we didn't know until we harvested them and what can we do next year apart from growing on another new plot.
Hope someone has suggestions
Thanks
