Mr Jim Eubanks of Grifton NC passes away..

I got word this afternoon that Jim Eubanks passed away about 12pm Tuesday Jan 8th 2018.

He suffered from a Stroke in November while hunting and went to a Re Hab facility in Ayden, He was sent home a few weeks ago where he suffered another
stroke and went back to the hospital. I have no further details..

Mr Jim as he was known to us and Jim Henry to his long time and closest friends was a quiet man who loved to hunt with hounds. He retired from Dupont in the late 80,s or early 90,s and has enjoyed retirement as well as anyone I have ever met...He had many a good hound and competed about every week when there was a one day HGA hunt to go to. And ran a few three day hunts a year with good success at both. Jim was the Long Time Manager of the Bay Bush Fox Preserve also.

I remember his kindness and guidance as a new hunter getting started in the early 90,s Jim was always willing to steer you in the right direction,,Usually backing his point up at the next field trial you went to and ran against him. (He would normally place higher than me) He and Miss Polly lived in a modest home and raised there family there....His living room was filled with Fox Hound Field Trial Trophy's. And I mean FILLED,,,,,,,A few years had passed since I had been by his home so I stopped by while passing thru from hunting....He was glad I stopped by Miss Polly had got him to thin down some of the trophies and he informed he had only kept his 1st place trophies in the house.....And ask me what I thought......I hesitated while looking around and he ask what was wrong....I responded that I could not tell any difference than before.......He had a slow big smile come on his face and said." I really did only keep the 1st place Trophies"

Miss Polly by his side he worked, Raised a Family, Found the Lord and Became a Solid member of the Community ,,,,I wish I had more details to offer on this fine man. Please feel free to add to this post with any stories or details of his arrangements....

Jim Henry we will miss you and I hope the Reds Take in the entire Kingdom,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Re: Mr Jim Eubanks of Grifton NC passes away..

I heard that yesterday, Mr. Jim was a good man and even better hunter. I really enjoyed the conversations we had about hounds of the past and present.

Remember going over to Bay Bush on open pup night and turning them loose, talking with him for about an hour and then leaving to see what the pups were doing.

Mr. Jim was a local legend in the sport around our part, he will be missed.
