This past year is now a memory and time is drawing closer to determining the winners of the 2017 Chase-Pride-Johnson’s Telemetry “Test of the Best” competition. The absolute deadline to submit one-day and puppy trial reports to The Chase office is February 1, 2018 for trials occurring this past year for this contest. Please make note of this postmark deadline as it is looming fast on the horizon.

As last year ends another has begun for what will be the most exciting “Test of the Best” competition ever. The 10th anniversary is this year, with an enhanced bonus for the top five pups and top five one-day winners. The top five (5) hounds in each division will receive the following in a monetary sum payment in addition to other incentives associated with this contest:

1st Place = $1,500.00 purse with a $5,000.00 bonus totaling $6,500.00 to the first place hound.
2nd Place = $1,000.00 purse with a $500.00 bonus totaling $1,500.00 to the second place hound.
3rd Place = $500.00 purse with a $500.00 bonus totaling $1,000.00 to the third place hound.
4th Place = $300.00 purse with a $500.00 bonus totaling $800.00 to the fourth place hound.
5th Place = $200.00 purse with a $500.00 bonus totaling $700.00 to the fifth place hound.

The best way for a hunter following this event is to subscribe to The Chase in order to be aware of the hunts specifically held for the “Test of the Best”, and to keep track of the standings throughout the year. I have always said the worth of this competition is much greater than any check or prize that might go along with its title because it is the Ironman of contests, a test of physical endurance of both hound and hunter.
