The Speaker is being sneaky with this bill. He is holding it, possibly to the last moment to assign it to a Committee. The thought is that by doing so, he will not give anyone in opposition the time to object to it.
He will not send it to House Agriculture, Natural Resources; as he knows it would "die" in Committee.
The most likely place will be the General Laws Committee, which has more members from city & suburban areas, as opposed to rural areas!
I contacted all the members of both Committees encouraging opposition to this bill.
In my years of following bills, opposing some, supporting others, this has to be the WORST bill ever introduced. And the Speaker is doing so to help a friend, and all the while potentially penalizing everyone in the Commonwealth that owns a dog!
