    Re: Garmin?

Enercell is the name and I got them from Radio Shack. Also if you change your contrast to very light or none during the day that will extend the battery life a long time. You can change it back as soon as it gets to dark to see the screen in the evening. I used mine all day today and the battery meter still shows full charge.

Also as Joe said make sure your setting is correct.

    Re: Garmin?

I understand all this with the batteries...and the settings I was just want to know if there is a way to make it work or why it does not work well when plugged in...bought some regular aa's from dollar general the other day and set backlight to 15 secs and they lasted 12 hrs...

    Re: Garmin?

Just a suggestion, you might check the connection to the lighter socket to see if it is making good contact. Had a cell phone plug that wasn't making good connection. Changed it & worked fine. Hope this may help, or at least rule it out.

    Re: Garmin?

It works fine with phone charger or anything mr. Bishop...on another note I felt like a kid in a candy store the other evening I did Christmas with the ol lady and she comes out the back room with this little flat brow package...I was like what the heck is this and to my surprise a book appears titled Sampson and the gang from hound holler I may be 26 but felt like 6...

    Re: Garmin?

    Kevin,

The Cig power cord works great if using the correct one. The ones from Garmin or Garmin compatable ones have no bearing on the range, but others who have the same "mini USB" plug do not work and can cause the Astro to fail.

If using the proper cord check the plug itself, if it is bent or broken it will give intermittent sevice.

    Hope this helps! Merry Christmas!
