Also, Sen. Doug Berger put in an amendment to exclude his 4 counties! Hint, Hint Maybe????? I think this may go to the Calender for the 3rd reading Monday night @ 7:00pm????

    Re: SB 374

SB 374 is on the Senate calendar for tomorrow (5/12).

Today's developments: Sen Doug Berger indicated that he would offer amendments tomorrow to exempt his counties from the roadside hunting provisions of the bill as well as retain the current requirement in 2 counties that landowners give their consent befor a trespass citation can be issued.

Also, Sen Brock expressed conern about the retrieval provision of the bill. Its unclear whether he will offer an amendment to remove it or not. He said that he had heard from some folks in his area (Mocksville, NC) that had concerns with the retrieval provision.

    Re: SB 374

Doug Berger has been a friend to the houndmen in the past. I emailed him a couple of week and he sent a response, even though he is not on the ag. committee. If all hunting bills are going to ag. committee, we need him on it! Look here what he is doing, voting no and trying to stand up for the hunters in his counties! Thank goodness I hunt in his county! I will make for d#@m sure he gets my vote from now on, even though we don't agree on most stuff. Solid guy who listens to both sides. Thanks Doug-even if your counties don't get amended, you stuck your neck out.
