C&M Puppy & Derby Hunt Sept. 14, 2013

Saturday was a very comfortable fall day. We had a cold front to move in and it sure did feel nice compared to the hot and humid weather we have had lately. I think the weather had everyone feeling jolly. After the Master of Hounds, Kevin Howell asked the huters to cast their hounds it did not take long for the hounds to get rolling in the cool morning air. Thirteen judges stayed busy for the next 4 hours. They were as follows: Kevin Howell, Gaston Ward, Jason Prevatte, Dwight Little, Jake Elliott, Butch Howell, Brad Howell, Nick Howard and Jade Howard, David Godwin, Dwayne Enzor , Canon Ward, and Curt Arnette. I really appreciate the great job these judges did..
Many thanks to Mike Carr with Pride Dog Feed Co. for feed picked up from Will’s Feed and Seed in Chadbourn,NC and also thanks to Randy McGovern with Showtime Feed Co. for feed picked up from The Cement Barn in Cerro Gordo, N.C. .
I want to thank my wife Hilda and Irene Howell for the computer scoring and also Lisa McShane for helping in the kitchen.
We had a good turn out for the Bench Show. The hunters are taking this very seriously. I want to thank Jason Prevatte for being our Bench Show judge and Dwight Little for serving as Ring Master. Congratulations to Walker Dawg Kennels for winning the 50/50 raffle of $58.00. The other $58.00 is donated to the NC Wildlife Preserve Association along with $50.00 from our 50 entries.
Congratulations to all the winners. Hope everyone will come back to C&M. Our next hunt will be Oct. 12th..
