The Jones Senior FFA hunt was a great success. The good Lord blessed us with beautiful weather, Doug had the pen ready to roll and the young people were ready to work. We had 20 judges some older and some young. They all worked hard to score the dogs that ran the entire time and were still running well after the awards presentation. Special thanks to Doug Landingham for allowing us to use the pen, Jeff Brinchek for running the computer and all the judges who helped out. We would also like to thank the following kennels and businesses that donated items, Tuscarora Kennels, East Coast Kennels, Smokin Aces Kennels, Randy Hawkins, Jeff Brincheck, Travis Morton, Coker’s Mill, Guy C Lee Lumber and the students that worked hard building the dog box and doing the cooking and selling door prize tickets. I would like to compliment Mike Sutton and the Jones Sr. FFA on putting on a great hunt at Walnut Creek Saturday. They had plenty of judges that knew how to judge a good dog and it showed! It took 575 pts. to win the S&D in the Derby and 685 pts. to win in the All Age, which shows the judges did a great job, the hounds were some of the best I've seen this year, and the game was ready to run! Hopefully the next field trial on June 8th will be just as good. (Maybe we can set another pen record)

The proceeds from the hunt will be used to help send the Jones Sr. Hunter Safety Team to New Mexico to represent Eastern NC in the National Competition. I want to wish them GOOD LUCK and have a great time, memories like these are precious!

this was a good hunt, i have heard the pen did not run well, well i have to say dont believe every thing you hear. i was there about 3 and half hours after the hunt trying to get one hound caught and he had no problem running..and congrats to bustin loose for winning the aa, she is a good hound.. and every one else that placed..

the 12th place in aa speed, the kennel name is spelled wrong, should be jump um up.. thanks..
