Gates County Hunt Club "Sandbanks" in Gates Co., N.C., will be having two outside field trials on January 19, and February 9, 2013. They are open class Speed & Drive Hunts, cast at 8 a.m. Run for 4 hours with trophies awarded to the top 20. Entry fee is $15 per dog with an optional $5 side bet. Registration begins at 6 a.m., at Hall Ruritan Club, 99 Tinkham Rd., Eure, N.C., 27935. We are located near the intersection of 13 and 158, behind Tarheel Bar-B-Q, all the way to the Chowan River. We have 60 members, who cannot enter hounds, but are mandatory to judge both trials. Over half of our members own hounds, therefore we know how to get after them. Come out and have fun!
