    RESULTS NCCSA at Triple B

The North Carolina Concerned Sportsmen Association had their fall field trial at Triple B Fox Preserve on September 15, 2012.This was a two class speed and drive hunt. There were hounds from many different parts of the state that showed to support their rights as hound owners and hunters. There were 87 hounds in the derby class and 75 hounds in the all age class. In the derby class, it took 380 points to get in the speed and drive and 750 points to win. In the all age class, it took 350 points to get in the speed and drive and 780 points to win it. The running was great. Prior to cast, everyone was treated to a complimentary breakfast of sausage sandwiches. The sausage was provided by the IGA store located in Surf City NC. The hounds were casted at 6:45 am and ran for 5 hours. During the hunt the hounds put up over 47,000 points.
While the hounds were running, Dale Carter took the helm and cooked a lunch that was fit for a king. He was being supervised by his wife, Mrs. Carter, who whipped up a fine batch of hushpuppies to complement the fish and slaw that was prepared. There was no reason for anyone to walk away hungry.
It took a lot of work to make this hunt a success. We had a lot of folks donate time, energy, and money to help with the hunt. We would like to thank The Bond’s for having the pen well stocked and running great. We would like to thank the following for their donations: Brittany Stone for assistance with the computer scoring, Jamie Gardner, Bert Hill, Mike and Fran Noblett, Tom Eure and David at Halemar Specialties for their donations of supplies, free running and breedings. Mike Milam at Milan Hardware also donated dog food.
We had 20 judges who donated their time and fended off mosquitoes all morning to get the scores. These judges were Tommy Carter, J.R. Baltzegar, Robbie Lynn, Ricky McLamb, Craig Shingleton, Charles Southerland, Tommy Murray, Alex Congleton, Greg Southerland, Danny Padgett, Brad Haste, Preston King, Mark King, Brad Howell, Kevin Howell, Dwight Little, Jimmy Horrell, Junior Hall, David Justice, and Shane Costin. We would like to also thank Tommy Carter for doing an excellent job as master of hounds. If I missed anyone, I do apologize. Most of all we would like to thank the hunters who shared their time and hounds to help make this a huge success. The results are as follows:
