Alrighty, I know this is a lame question, by why is Allstar named well, Allstar? I still don't get why really that's his name. I mean it can't just be because he's got a star on his shirt. That's kinda pointless. Like wise, we all know for a fact the reason for Tooter's name, but I still don't get the purpose of Allstar's. Just like the ol' sayin' "What's in a name?"

I think Allstar ended up being a variant of Allistair -- if you drop the two "i"'s, you get Allstar. So, it is possible that Allstar was born Allistair, and his name was changed to Allstar early in his life.

As for Tooter, this is one question that I'll have to be research into...

Hmm, that's a good question. Maybe Allstar's parents really like sports? Or maybe they just like stars; his little sister is named Smallstar, after all.

Hmmm, what do I myself think? I kanda sorta agree with you, Quasisp. I think it makes sense that Allstar is the variant of Allistair. However,the other day I read that the name Allistair is the variant of Alexander (which means the defender) so perhaps Allstar has his name to reflect his personality and he's described as "brave" or "fearless leader" (terms anyone would describe as a defender) even so he proves it in lots of episodes. You can consider someone who's brave or like a defender and an allstar, therefore maybe the reason why his name is Allstar can also be due to the way he is and just by calling him Allstar would be like how his personality suggests. As we know sometimes cartoonists do that with characters. Find a name for them that reflects themselves. At least that's what they do most of the time.
