Faeries in Comic Books

I'm pleased to announce that Archon Comics has a story in the
Fablewood Anthology. The Fablewood Anthology is a graphic novel featuring classic fantasy stories. The Fablewood Anthology will be available for preorder at your
local comic book store in November and will be in stores in January 2008.

Our Fablewood story is called A Tale of Two Shifters. It follows the adventures
of a young  sneak-thief shape shifter and his equally shady grandpa. While at the local goblin market, the pair gets into all kinds of trouble.
It’s a prequel to our all-ages three-issue miniseries,
The Goblin Chronicles
-- which will be will be published by
Ape Entertainment in Feb 2008 (available for preorder
in Dec 2007). The Goblin Chronicles was heavily inspired by faerie folklore and
is a must read for fantasy and faerie enthusiasts alike.

Here is the first page of our Fablewood contribution (more to follow soon):

Looks pretty cool -- good luck with it! If you're local to the East Coast, check out the SPXPO (I think it's back in Bethesda). It's a great indy-comic scene--they might appreciate what you guys are doing, too.

Much luck!

Thanks, Shannon. I appreciate the tip. We're based out of Los Angeles, but my publisher may be going SPXPO. Thanks again!

Re: Faeries in Comic Books

Here's page 3 (the final page I'm allowed to post).

Here's the official description of the anthology:

FABLEWOOD GN VOL 01
Softcover, 144 Page Full-Color, $19.95

FABLEWOOD compiles the talents of up-and-comers like Ryan Ottley (Invincible, Superman/Batman Annual #1), Manny Trembley (Panda Xpress, Sam Noir: Samurai Detective), Joe Infunari (Oni Talent Search, Borrowed Time), J.P. Ahonen and Sarah Mensinga (Flight 4) with talented newcomers like Chris Studabaker (Howard E. Day Prize Nominee), Kevin Crossley (Event Horizon), Axel Machain (Metal Hurlant), Joe Suitor (Popgun Anthology) and more.

Our longest FABLEWOOD story “Under the Midnight Sun” was nominated for the prestigious Howard E. Day Award. Comic legend Dave Sim (Cerebus) stated that "through a balance of pencil and ink on the interior pages and Christopher Studabaker's evocative, austere and expressionistic dialogue and narration, it's a very successful experiment."

You can pre-order your copy today by giving your local comic shop this code: NOV07 3306
