R.I.P. Liberal Party

I don't believe that people are actually going to vote in Bob Rae as head of the Liberal party. Does no one out there remember how badly he screwed up Ontario a few years back? Our great great great grandchildren will still be paying interest on the debt this yahoo racked up!!!

I've been a card carrying Liberal for years but the Bob & Dalton team will force me to finally move to the Green Party. Can't go Conservative, they haven't had anyone since The Chief who wasn't afraid to make a decision, right or wrong. NDP... never! I wonder if my old Rhino party buddy is still around?

I've left your message on here because everyone has a right to their opinion. I maybe even agree with you but mainly I was hoping that we could get a little more activity of some kind going in this message board but since you're not getting any takers...

What does this have to do with the Manitoulin theme of this web site?

Re: R.I.P. Liberal Party

Are we to assume that you have not learned from your own mistakes, that you have not matured as you have grown older?I'm not saying I will vote for Mr. Rae just that we ,as flawed individuals, should not be quick to judge people by past performance ie;1 or 2 years of that persons life.
Bob Rae if nothing else is a man of ideals, rare in politicians who would rather take on the ideals of the crowd that yells the loudest.Where whats good for the country is whats good for there poll ratings.
Bob Rae has written a few books since he was in power.Do yourself a favor,go to the library and take one out.You just might be impressed. You still may not like him but I'm sure you will judge him better.

Mike

Re: R.I.P. Liberal Party

Sorry but you still haven’t sold me. What I will do however is look up one of the books you mention, but not the one that came out in September or the one that’s being released tomorrow. They will be nothing more than campaign speeches. I will also be the first (perhaps) to come back to this web site and admit I was wrong if it turns out that I was. I have no doubt that Mr. Rae will get in and I will be watching with great interest how the liberal party develops over the coming years.

Re: R.I.P. Liberal Party

OK, I have to admit that Mr. Rae made one heck of a good speech tonight. Still won't vote for him though. Sorry, but I just can't trust the guy, even though he does seem to be the best choice for the liberals right now. If only he hadn't been NDP before and allowed his people to mess up Ontario so badly. I bet you that P. E. T. could still draw more votes than all of them put together. Oh well, the bottom line is that all politicians are the same regardless of which party they represent. How do you pick the best of the bunch?

Thsi exchange is pretty funny considering what did happen at the convention. I think the Liberal party is rising from the ashes.

Yeah, I guess it's just a case of my worst fears being nothing but hot air eh?

I don't think Dion can beat Harper though... too bad. With things the way they are we might as well just declare ourselves another state.
