Raising Money for the Sweet Melissa Fund
The University of North Carolina Hospital provides lung transplantation as a treatment option for patients with incurable end-stage lung disease. Lung transplantation is not only a tremendous medical and surgical undertaking; it is also a huge financial burden. Many patients and families cannot afford the medication and treatments needed to sustain life after undergoing such a procedure. The Sweet Melissa Fund was founded in January of 2005 in memory of Melissa Alexander, a vibrant young woman who lost her battle with cystic fibrosis during her lung transplant surgery. The Fund provides financial assistance to lung transplant recipients and their families. We are a designated 501C-3 not for profit organization and all donations are tax deductible. Thank you in advance for your support on behalf of all the patients undergoing this life-saving procedure. Donations can be made by check,cash or through PayPal. I had a double lung transplant this past April made three years. I am doing very well. If it hadnt been for the fund and people rasing money for me I would have never made it. Now that I am back on my feet and doing well I want to give back to the fund for helping me. So I decided to put this hunt on to raise some money. Donations are welcome also. The hunt will be at Fox Tail fox pin in Hamilton N.C between Lewiston N.C and Oak City N.C on highway 11. When ya cross the Roanoke River Bridge go about 2 miles to the caution light the pin is on the right.Going to be a 2 class hunt, 2 and under 2 and over. So far so good on everything for the hunt in Oct.4th at Fox Tales. Going to do 1-20th place in derby hunt and 2 and over. Ran the pen last night, dogs ran good no problem getting after one. I have given out about 200, went to pooles this weekend to K-9 for cance hunt. Announced the hunt there hope to give out more. Going to have plenty of judges. I have run the pen several times plenty of game there. |

Thanks guys, putting on this hunt really means alot to me,if it wasnt for this fund. I would have never made it. Hope It will be a good turn out so I can do this again next year. There will be a gun to give away at the hunt. Each hound entered in the hunt will be 25.00 the 5 dollars goes towards the raffle of the gun. You bring ten hounds ya get ten tickets. I got the gun today. Mossberg 835 12 gauge black syn. 31/2 inch. good luck guys. I have also a few things to give away doing 50/50 tickets. Hey guys, yall trip me lol. Not sure on how many numbers I have given out. Last night my phone rang half the night. last time i counted which was about 5 days ago I had given out 230 numbers. Most of the numbers I have given out are derby numbers. Yall spread the word and keep talking smack lol. Pin is running great. Plenty of game, there are some deer in there too.......Think this is going to be a great turn out.
