Message:   This score is not too high. In your writing and speaking you need to have some fluency, and most speakers of European languages have this. The difficult thing is that you need some (but not perfect) control of your grammar. Mistakes like not using 'a', 'an' or 'the' will make a 6.0 very difficult. (There is no 5.5 in writing or speaking.)

To improve your writing and speaking, you should do a course. You can use this site or go to a school in your town, but do get a teacher to point out what your common mistakes are.

For the style of writing, use an IELTS book. All the books on offer are excellent. The Cambridge Practice exam series is particularly popular with students. These books will also give you listening and reading practice. This is something you can do at home, although check my other site for tips for these areas.

As you can see, you can teach yourself most of what you need for this score, but most students need a teacher to help you alalyse your grammar in particular.

Good luck!
