I have recently inherited a Voigtlaender Avus (Anastigmat Voigtar I:6,3 F=13,5cm No.326199 which was origianlly bought at Photo-Porst in Nuernberg) and would like to know whether it is still possible to buy plates for it, how to use it and how to develop the plates. Please excuse my ignorance of these matters, the camera has been lying in an English attic for decades and there are no instructions ! I have looked on the Avus bit of the site, but such is my technical ignorance, that I couldn't work out which Avus it is, so if someone can tell me I will be delighted ! Coincidentally, I visited 59 Rodney Street, Liverpool today, the photographic studio of Edward Chambre Hardman which has just been opened by the National Trust and his Avus was on display (an English model with distance in feet not metres). They suggested I contact the Wirral Photographic Society who had helped them on the project. I intend to do so, but did an internet search and found this great site. So any help would be much appreciated, I am in Liverpool myself. Thank you for reading this post. |
