Re: 1 man and his baseball bat

Hi Barry its Steve Cooney the Bovey res captain, i as you may remember from conversations in our clubhouse very much rate you as a ref, but can i just ask do you think you had a good game today? Not being offensive but there were alot of people coming back (not just players)saying it wasn't your best day, although i agree you shouldn't expect too much abuse.

Re: 1 man and his baseball bat

If you ref'd the game Barry why didn't you send the waldon player off in the last min for handball on the line. You saw that one but you didn't see the one from Lee French as he hit the winner.not surprised bovey had ago at you cause you were rubbish

Re: 1 man and his baseball bat

If only people could see how they act at football matches and think whether they are setting good examples?? If they act like they do at football in public they would be banged up for a while! Reason referee have it difficult is cos of all the yobs who run football teams and think they know the laws inside out! Yes referee's will always make mistakes - but the abuse and swearing from players and managers is totally out of order. Its a shame the referee's and league officials don't have the balls to do anything about it! Even if a ref does have a bad game does that give people the right to abuse him? If one of your players has a bad game do you all berate him during and after the game - don't think so! Am not a referee am a player who is getting p!ssed off with all teh yob mentality attached to football.

Re: 1 man and his baseball bat

Just a question, as a ref myself.
I have never had an issue with Bully the Bovey manager in fact he is one of the best behaved chaps on the line, will always talk and not shout.
I never understand the grief they get,
Good luck in the new league.

Re: 1 man and his baseball bat

Just a little puzzled phil, ok wayne isn't s&d anymore. . . but he is ban till june. . does that justify him being there on the sideline yesterday?? so please don't try and defend him. i also heard alot about this 'referee'. . trainers n a normal adidas t-shirt on i believe??? and i believe a mr tinkler was witness to this referee as the game was ending. a ref is a ref but there are rules for them too x

Re: 1 man and his baseball bat

not defending him as i would like nothing more than to see him fall on his face but he's down as having a suspension. now the question is, is that just playing or is it a touchline ban.i thought the refs outfit looked ok,shame about some of his decisions.

Re: 1 man and his baseball bat

well waldon reserves have a very good relationship with many of the teams in our division, the only problems we have is players fighting with our own team mates... i like how many peopl euse forums like these to slag off teams without saying what team you are from... or even your real names.

ever thought the reason people dont give their name is in fear of revange attack on or off the pitch ammo ?

Re: 1 man and his baseball bat

i don`t know ammo but if he wears glasses then the last time i played against him in div 4 his challenges were the worst from his team and seemed intentional,i maybe wrong but thats how it seemed! although i did see him after the game and he seemed a nice guy!!!! u voice your opinions on here about them because if u do it to them they`ll be out to damage u intentionally in a challenge.

Re: 1 man and his baseball bat

yeh i play in goal... you are obviously from dartmouth and on about paco... i will not mention that game because the circumstances of that game were diabolical! i never intentionally hurt anyone.. though do get targeted a lot because of my big gob... paco will never hurt anyone deliberately but his tackles are often very strong i will admit! in the 5 seasons ive played for waldon this year has been the best attitude and sportsmanship wise wise and it will be improved further next season!

as for the baseball bat incident... i explained on the other forum that that was a statement of intent for one of our own players, due to unforgivable behaviour.. i wont go into detail though!

lmao gary... i wish i was good enough to play out on pitch... to put an end to the speculation i am a goalkeeper... some days im quite good but most of the time i am crap! lol
nah wayne has a ban from all football exept spectating... he is not allowed in the dressing rooms or manage the team from the sidelines... it is steve eustice who has been managing waldon this season wayne has only been watching!
