Mississippi Walk of Fame
Meridian, Mississippi
The Meridian City Council approved the Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Center's Mississippi Walk of Fame Sidewalk Stars Program. The MAEC plans to purchase sidewalk stars to "commemorate Mississippi artists of all types of art," to be installed downtown. The city will be responsible for maintenance. The first star honors Jimmie Rodgers, and the MAEC plans a large ceremony for its installment. A date for the ceremony has not been set.
