Firstly, many thanks to Jim Myrick for the invite into the Tisba family. I am a radio broadcaster in Australia, country music is my preferred genre, is there any other ? It's great to see the respect for country music pioneers, notably Jimmie Rodgers, the "Father of Country Music", & to draw a comparison, Slim Dusty 1927-2003 Australia's "King of Country Music", eternal gratitude to these men who's legacy will be enjoyed by generations to come. I have noted on perusing "Jimmie Rodgers" websites, mention of three birthplaces of Jimmie Rodgers, Meridian, Pine Springs, & Geiger, can Tisba members enlighten me
as to the correct birthplace?
I look forward to being a regular "postee" on Tisba, sharing Australian country music info. If I may direct you all to www.slimdusty.com.au/ or entering "Slim Dusty" into your search engine, there you'll find the bio & music of the man who endeared himself to Australians through music & deed.
Hooroo for now.

Jimmie was born in the Pine Springs Community just north of Meridian. Jimmie's family moved to Gieger Alabama for a short time just after he was born. But the family came back to Meridian. Jimmie later moved to Gieger when he was working on the Rail Road.
