Premier Foods Lose £73.5 Million in 2007
Hello According to this BBC report, Premier Foods lost £73.5 in 2007. I never did get round to buying any shares! Full report at: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7276362.stm See also this report on Bloomberg: http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601102&sid=aYGItPBwPI.0 "Wheat cost gloom for Hovis firm Premier Foods has slashed its dividend payout to shareholders and posted an annual loss for 2007 as the firm struggles to cope with soaring costs. The debt-laden firm said it would pay 6.5 pence a share to investors, just over half what it paid them last year. It has come under financial strain as profit margins on its Hovis bread range have been eroded by high wheat prices. The maker of Oxo and Campbell's Soup posted a pre-tax 2007 loss of £73.5m ($146m), against £59m previously. But its shares rose 11p, almost 12%, to 103p after it calmed fears that it would not be able to meet its repayments on the bank loans it took out to finance its £1.2bn acquisition of RHM. Under the RHM deal, Premier gained ownership of the Hovis brand as well as Mr Kipling cakes." This is what we should be talking about on here
