Investment, But Who Pays?

Hello All.

Here is a sensible posting for a change.

I am sure you will all have got an "Investment Communication" with your wageslip.

Those who bothered to read it should take note of the paragraph which says:

"We have started to review our core labour requirements based on the above investment and future anticipated volumes."

I seem to remember a similar statement in 2004, just before they halved the permanent workforce.

and also: "When relevant information comes to light I will ensure it is communicated accross the site in an appropriate manner"

Last time, the first we knew about redundancies was in the Echo, and someone from eastleigh was blamed for leaking it.
We all have to pay for this lot somehow and, as there appears to be no increase in actual production volume, we can only assume that savings will be made on the labour side once this machinery is introduced.

What do you think
