Can somebody please tell me what the hell is going on.On monday afternoon i saw the midget jason showing that burke mike cox around the factory.Everybody i spoke to is against the idea of this dinosaur of a line manager returning.What the hell is going on.

why dont you say it to his face or are you all to scared, mike is sound, if you do your job he will leave you alone if not he will have ago, but only the lazy moan because they dont like to work, he will turn this place around, ship out the crap an get this place goin again, he has bin on nights 1 week an hit over 90%, better than any other manager has done, more cake less cost = more orders = more overtime ( for everyone). so if you do your job an let him do his every thing will be ok, if you dont just leave the factory an let everyone eles work in peace

Just wondered if any of you would like a job in the near future! Because the way the place is going, none of you will have a job. Who will you blame? You can only blame yourselves. Mike has come back as a Relief Manager at the request of the firm and is trying to do the job to the best of his ability. When you so called workers have an hour on/hour off or a half hour on/half hour off, where do you think the money goes??? - on the cost of the cake. Can this continue? No Way!

Hello all,
Thank you 'someone with a brain' for that astute observation!
I think this was the arguement used a few years ago to justify the redundancy/demanning operation.
If you remember that is what happened and we brought our conversion cost down to 15p to equal Carlton.
So therefore our labour costs reduced in line with our copetitors because we agreed to take on additional work/resposibility.
We have recruited additional part time employees since then though to fill the shortfall in numbers from the redundancy situation. This tends to suggest that the company made too many people redundant in the first place which seems to be a total waste of money.
There also tends to be a constant number of part timers working on double days and nights which also suggests that there was also too many full time redundancies which was even more money wasted.
As the redundancy/demanning was the proposal of the Moreton management 'team' may I suggest that at least the people on the lines are working within the enforced numbers regardless of how much break time they have.
I think that if the place closes the resposibility can be laid fairly and squarely at the door of the management team who obviously are blinded by false 'cost cutting'.

I reckon Billy McCartney could do it without upsetting people unnecessarily.

The place has turned around since '05 but there are still some inefficiencies, like having management on the books who either can't or won't do their job.

By the way, what does Heather Harding actually do?

What do the test bakery people actually do (besides getting in the way when there are trial runs in progress)?

As i read through this forum it does,nt surprise me most of the words are four letter,s long, do you use your finger,s and toes to count to twelve, and a calculator to count each pallet you move.
