frequencies

Just wanted to see how many teams are willing to supply a frequency for fans. I know we have two frequencies so I am willing to put one out there. I think this would be cool if the fans could be able to listen in. Of course we would really need to police ourselves on the radio transmissions. Besides telling my brother to use the nitros I can't think of anything we would say that could be so top secret. If we get a list put together and inform the fans to bring thier radios I think that would be cool. I will start-452.2000 Dont be scared!

Re: frequencies

I think this is agreat idea, I am getting our radios together, and will post the freq's when I get them, but I heard that Frank was not going to allow radios at the KY race, so I would like to know for sure what is going on there, it sure would help save some cars, and it is not like you have to plan much of pit strategy, but this would be a great saftey tool, just the way I see it.

Re: frequencies

Just wanted you guys to know that we will be using the Raceiever System for the entire event at Kentucky Speedway. Do to the fact that everyone cannot supply a spotter we feel this is a much safer way to commuicate both organizational messages and track condition messages. The Raceievers will be furnished by myself at no cost to competitors; therefore any other radio communication will not be permitted. Thanks Frank

Re: frequencies

Why would you change at this late date ,We entered this race with the premiss of using radios .pehaps the teams that dont have radios of a capable spotter can use your system but I for 1 want to use radios
You wouldn't want yourself or your son to race on a track this size without a spotter, FRANK call me at your earlist

Re: frequencies

Funny, Just my luck! I just bought a set of radios 4 days ago for Kentucky Speedway an was looking foward to using them for the first time. oh well. maybe i can total another car like i did last year. If i would have had a spotter last year chances are i would have checked up to miss the wreck.

Re: frequencies

Please let us know what other rules you are going to change so I can quit spending money, I also bought radios for this event at a cost of $1300.00 I realize I can use them elesewhere but I would not have bought this expensive system. I think this is a mistake if nothing elese for saftey reasons. please reconsider this decision

Thanks

Re: frequencies

Frank, What about two cans and a real loooooong string. Just kidding. I really did not want to have to talk to my brother for that long anyway. Please give everyone some info on what the drivers will be hearing or seeing in car. If there is any audible what hot chics voice is it going to be. We might want some to listen to in the pits. Thanks.

Re: frequencies

Frank, Everyone is more comfortable with their own spotter. Is it possible to let the cars that do not have a radio use your system. It will be hard for one person to watch the entire track.

Re: frequencies

After careful consideration of ALL the input I received regarding the Raceiver System, I feel a good compromise would be to allow the use of a standard radio in one ear AND the Raceiver in the other ear. I think it is very important for those teams who have radios to be able to use them but also as the race director the ability to communicate with every driver during the race is critical to safety and race organization.

Please remember - radios should be used for safety purposes ONLY, and should NOT be used as a second driver.

An official spotter stand will be available at Kentucky Speedway. All teams that have their own spotters are required to use this official stand.

Thanks to everyone for their feedback regarding this issue. Any questions, please email us at raceinfo@frankkimmel.com.

Re: frequencies

frank & bill what if the spotter uses your system in one ear and releys any info to the driver instead of the driver listning to two voices

Re: frequencies

Rick, What driver are you talking about? If he has that many voices in his head we don't want him on the track to begin with! Deal with it.
