Payouts and Spotters

Frank, are payouts being mailed to those of us who had to leave early? Also, if ALL drivers had spotters, I dont think the small wrecks would have turned into multi car destruction. The black camaro should NEVER have been hit like that, I was in the blue #7 behind him, and I had time to go high.

Spotters on that track would have saved some destroyed race cars, shame.

Thanks for the race guys, and Frank!! Charlie Smith, Ontario Canada

Re: Payouts and Spotters

Hey Charlie, if come back down here and race, look us up if you need some help, even if you come by yourself again, don't be afraid to ask, I didn't know until after the race you were down here alone, so look us up, Team 27 Motorsports, car #27, ask for Mark Emly. and I agree every car needs a spotter, that car should have never been hit like that, we lost a car at Salem's Firecracker last July, if we could have had radios a spotters it could have saved our car, again if you come back and need help look me up.

Mark, thanks for the offer, much appreciated. Hard to find people to help you out down there when they dont know you. I had a hard time just trying to borrow an air tank for my tires. Will look for you at Kentucky!! Thanks

Charlie.

Re: Payouts and Spotters

Charlie you are correct the crash with the #91 car should have never happen. When I got out of my car I was approached by at least 4 people I did not know and they told me sorry what happen to you and that the #91 car is been causing all kinds of wrecks. A statement that did not pay any attention to until we got back to the hotel and saw the video of the #91 flipping my teammate #151. He should have been black flag earlier in the race. On the other hand, I do not think judgging by your comments that you have seen the video. If you had so much time to react and since it was so easy to avoid the crash, why did you go high and compounded the wreck? It seams to me that if I had the time you had to react I would have gone low. NO CARS IN THE LOW LANE and that was the lane you were in to start with!!

Re: Payouts and Spotters

Charlie, changing the subject we are also trying to got to Kentucky. If you go by yourself, look us up. We would love to help you in any way we can. As a funny note My car became a parts car after my wreck. I gave away the stirring pump and just about all my plug wires with the boots.

Re: Payouts and Spotters

Richard, I dont recall anything about slow cars not being allowed on the bottom? Anyhow, I would have been okay going high, but i was clipped by a car coming up my right rear which sent me up the wall. I think by going high and still moving forward helped the situation more then adding another stopped car for more guys to hit.
But it is what it is, and im just sorry to see your car wrecked that bad, ive been through it to. Thanks for the offer to help!!

Charlie.

Re: Payouts and Spotters

I agree with you. My car is pretty much total. I'm looking to get another Monte Carlo and rebuilt it for the possible race in January. I'm just thankful that nothing happen to any of us involved in the hard wreck.
Hope to see you in Kentucky or in the race in January.

Re: Payouts and Spotters

Thats kind of early in the year! what's the weather like in the Carolina's in January?

P.S. Hey Charlie, 50/50 Chance I might be able to help at Kentucky if you come down. No sure I'll have my car ready to go in time for this race or not! even if it's not totally done, still may just bring it down to run through tech.
