Maradona soon to be a grandfather
DIEGO Maradona is about to become a grandfather, with Atletico Madrid forward Sergio Aguero revealing the Argentine football legend's daughter Gianinna is expecting a baby. Aguero, who scored two goals to help Argentina inflict a humiliating defeat on arch-rivals Brazil in the Olympic semi-finals on Tuesday, is the father. The rumour mill has been working overtime in Argentina and Aguero demonstrated to the crowd that Gianinna was pregnant by sucking his thumb after netting his first goal. "Yes, it was a dummy, you all saw it. It was for the baby that is coming,'' he said. "I dedicated the goal to Gianinna and to all my family watching at home. I miss them a lot.'' Aguero has been wearing a special pair of boots here inscribed with 'Giani' and 'Kun', the couple's nicknames. Maradona, who continues to enjoy the adulation of millions in his homeland despite his well-publicised battles with drink and drugs, is in China and has been supporting Argentina from the VIP boxes. He was watching when Aguero scored his brace on Tuesday and couldn't hide his tears. "I'm very proud of having a son-in-law who can score two goals against Brazil and then gets fouled in the box for a penalty,'' he said. "I couldn't be happier.'' Before leaving Buenos Aires for China, Maradona, 47, told reporters he felt "great'' after his battle with drink and drugs and credited his two daughters - Gianinna and Dalma - with helping him pull through. "I had very hard moments, but now I wake up every morning lucid and willing to call my daughters. I'm great,'' he said. "When I was bad, I was ashamed of going out to the street; but today I'm fine, and it is thanks to them.'' Hmm that kid could be a super player lol Daryl

Absolutely right Daryl, with Aguero as a Dad and Maradona as a Grandad... he can't go far wrong can he???? That's assuming the baby will be a boy!!!   I actually didn't realise that Aguero was married to Maradona's daughter. Thanks for the article!

OMG well Kat I guess it will be still good if it's a girl as the Argentinian women will have her to look forward to in the future and who knows they may become just as good as the men hehe with her help;Btw Bati's eldest son is super hott wish he will follow in his father's footsteps. |

Giannina Maradona To Give Birth To Agüero's Son Giannina, the younger daughter of Diego Armando Maradona, and the partner of Atlético de Madrid star Sergio Agüero, is pregnant and will give birth to a baby boy "The Aguero-Maradona family already know: Kun (Sergio Agüero) and Giannina will have a boy", declared popular Argentine newspaper Olé. Giannina, 21, has been pregnant for five months and, according to Olé, the boy will be born in February in Madrid, the city where the couple reside. It has been reported that the name of their son could be Leonel, although it has yet to be confirmed by the couple. Agüero, 20, and Giannina met at the end of 2007. At the beginning of the year they moved in together, and in May they got engaged. A few days ago, Maradona admitted that he would be delighted to be a grandfather. Maradona is a big fan of Agüero and often attends his matches with Atlético Madrid. He also supported the player during Argentina's Olympic Games triumph earlier in the year.
