Franco Sensi Dies..Roma President.

ROME, Aug 18 (Reuters) - AS Roma president Franco Sensi has died aged 82, the Serie A club said on Sunday.

Rival teams Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan all paid tribute to him on their websites.

Sensi, president of the club for 15 years, had been ill for some time. His daughter Rosella is chief executive.

He oversaw Roma’s third Italian league title in 2001 and they lifted their second successive Italian Cup last season.

The club was at the centre of rampant takeover speculation last term with billionaire financier George Soros showing interest before talks ended.

Re: Franco Sensi Dies..Roma President.

This is indeed very sad news!
At the end of Bati's time at Roma, I was annoyed with the way Sensi treated him (as I'm sure we all were). BUT, we must remember that when Roma signed Bati it made him the highest paid footballer in the world at that time.... it gave him a way out of a terrible situation at Fiorentina and also gave him his only scudetto! It also gave US a fantastic year following Roma in the lead up to winning that title.

That was ALL thanks to Sensi... HE made it all possible.
And for that... I would sincerely like to say THANK YOU to him and may he rest in peace.

Absolutely agree. Let's remeber the good times instead of the bad.
