Bati coaching - yes to national team, no to club

I think that's what it says, here's a new interview on ESPN spanish site, I'll try to get a proper translation if no one here is able to. I think basically he said he would coach the national team if the offer comes but he wouldn't want to coach any club because he doesn't want to move his family around.

Re: Bati coaching - yes to national team, no to club

Yes, basically he is saying that right now he doesn't need to coach a club because he hasn't gottten to that point in his life, if a club that was organized and without any problems would approach him, he would definitely do it, but as he says, "where is there a club like that!" He also said that he would coach the national team for other reasons( he didn't give those reasons) . He said to coach a club right now would be crazy, maybe in 10 years if he needs it, but right now he doesn't need the craziness!

Re: Bati coaching - yes to national team, no to club

thanks for making it clear Nadia. Goal.com has picked up the story, here's the english version

Batistuta Will Only Accept Argentina Job

Many Argentine First Division clubs have shown an interest in the former Fiorentina great, but he affirmed that he will only be interested in coaching the national team.

"If they call me from the national team, I will say yes, because there are other motivations. If a club want me, and there is enthusiasm because there is organization, there would be no problem, I'll go," he said.

"But where is there a team who are looking for a coach with those conditions?"

Batistuta's greatest moments at club level were experienced with Fiorentina, but he also played for Inter Milan and AS Roma in Serie A, before retiring in Qatar in 2005.

Batigol believes accepting a coaching job would be a big mistake: "To get involved in that (coaching) would be silly. I find other pleasures, and as well as this, I have just come out of football. I still have to clear my mind," he stated.

"Maybe in ten years I would like to. But for now I don't need to be a coach."

A few months back, Batistuta attracted the interest of Argentine giants Boca Juniors, but he admitted that he was not ready to take up such a challenge.

Re: Bati coaching - yes to national team, no to club

Thanks Jas that is an interesting article, and thanks for the translation Nadia!

It would be good to see him back in football! the most important thing the coach of a country like argentina has to do is get the players playing together - i think he would have the strength of personality to do that.
