A Dali Gone Haunting When guesses become sterile, And ideas stray out of grasp; Reality erodes away from crisp forms, Does anyone take notice? The rain melts an orb into a teardrop, A wedge blends into an oval, A Dali painting gone haunting; What once firm ground grows soft, And the small enlarges in area, And the large gives away its vastness, To a recess unseen and apart. A jostle between impressive and tiresome; A reek aroma of waste resides there, In a mortar growing barbs that bite, Dog and pony shows locked up in dark crates, And then sold as a class of assets. Pet causes designed to sire guilt, And arts emerge to shock and stun, To what depths of nerve has the humane sunk? Shortages and recessions to come, Abandoned civilizations in pieces and shards, A god ices over and ebbs away, One popular fad today, soon forgot tomorrow; Time pending, time advancing, time long gone, An ethereal pattern frozen into a mosiac; Grays rusting to a bleeding dull reddish ore, From the ground, into the light, then back to sand, A being lost into shifting quicksands of time, Radicals and ions making the changes, Avoiding and adhering in a dance of... Lost Ideals and talismans of guesses, When A Dali goes a haunting. |
