Readers Digest Article (UK magazine) about eye exams & PDS
One of a couple of critical media articles that have appeared in the UK recently, this one of interest because of the finding of Pigment Disturbance Syndrome during the reporters investigations. I would have transcribed the article but it is longer than the word limit of this forum. Thus I'll post a link (see below). but think it's generally badly written but is both rightly critical and wrongly uncritical in parts. Dave www.readersdigest.co.uk/the-great-eye-test-scandal-i-401 |

Re: Readers Digest Article (UK magazine) about eye exams & PDS
Dave, I don't think the article can be viewed unless a subscription/membership is obtained, as only page one is available without 'signing in'. I would have asked you to copy and paste the article to me in an email, so that I could add a page on the site with the entire article for everyone to see, however, I don't know where I'd stand on copyright infringement. I will email Nick Morgan this evening to ask if it would be possible to reproduce the article on the site. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. |

I didn't know that. I know I don't have a subscription and I just clicked on the page 1of6 etc to move from page to page. Maybe Uni has a subscription... |

Re: Readers Digest Article (UK magazine) about eye exams & PDS
That's a possibility. I contacted Nick Morgan, who said he'll see if he can sort something out, but it won't be for a few months... I then emailed Reader's Digest to see if I can reproduce the article, but haven't received a reply yet. |

Re: Readers Digest Article and an apology to Dave
The editor of Reader's Digest, Catherine Haughney, has contacted me and allowed me to link from this site to the article. The link can be found on the Links page of this site. My apologies Dave... you were quite correct in getting from one page to another on the RD's article... click on the PAGE 1 OF 6/ PAGE 2 OF 6 links, etc, NOT the Subscribe Now button, as I had been doing!! (wondering if I can blame my eyes...)Catherine has very kindly added a link to this site at the end of the article. |
