Cannabis' effect on pressure exams
It hadn't occurred to me at the time, but I later realized the fact that I'd consumed cannabis less than 24 hours before my last exam might have skewed my results. Think I should be concerned enough to get retested? Not a regular imbibement for me, so it's not as though I'm always potentially maintaining my recorded low pressure. Nerve exams were normal on the other hand. |

Re: Cannabis' effect on pressure exams
Your average joint will drop your Intra-Ocular Pressure around 4mmHg for a period of around 6hrs. So unless you were toking away on the bus there I'm sure you'll be fine. Also long term use has less and less effect on IOP, we quickly become immune to it's effects (ocular ones anyway). So we have to look elsewhere for a medicinal use excuse... |

Re: Cannabis' effect on pressure exams
Very interesting info on the long term tolerance. What periods of time are we talking on average? |

Re: Cannabis' effect on pressure exams
Bearing in mind this was first discussed in Nov, it's probably already happened! A lot of IOP lowering meds appear to have a 3-6 month period where tolerance will develop. Any time after that it's possible but rarer. Cannabis is very much in the 3 month group with regular use. Dave |
