The Nemesis Crown!
I sent Joel an email about this... so I'm just gonna copy it here... Have you heard about the new summer campaign? The Nemesis Crown? Basically, Alrik, arguably the greatest of the Runesmiths and creator of the 12 rhunfangs, came up with this vision to create the best rune ever! He would create a version of the rune of kingship that was so powerful that any who wore a crown of it would not only gain the wisdom of the previous owners of the crown, but also would become the master of his own race. But no material he found could support it, until he found Warpstone. So he made a crown out of Warpstone, and gave it this rune. Thats the Nemesis Crown. After he had done so, he realized that it does not give you wisdom, but makes you go insane! This act gave him the name Alrik the Mad, and it is one of the oldest dwarf grudges still standing. Anyway, the crown was hidden deep in an abandoned mine. Recently it would be discovered by some dwarfs, and later by some random goblin, who went insane, and ran with it into Loren Forest. So, now everyone has some kind of reason to go get it. For the Dwarfs, its a chance to strike out one of the oldest grudges in the book. Emperor Karl Franz thinks that he can overcome the ill effects of the crown and use it for the greater good of his people. Skaven just want their warpstone back. High Elves think that no one Else should have it. Dark Elves just want to stir something with all the stuff going on. They know they don't have a chance to get it. The Tomb Kings are using this as an excuse to go to various Empire cities and take back all the artifacts that have been plundered from them. Brettonia has a chance at getting more land for their knights. Every victory represents a duchy formed in their alliance with the Empire. Ogres are in it for a good scrap. The Orcs have an interesting reason... The Orc Big Boss Grimgor thinks that by getting the crown, he'll have the greatest warriors in the world come to fight him for it. Now, think of what would happen if he put it on? Can we say, superwhaaag? In any case, its gonna be awesome, except for the dwarfs, who are going to hate the forests. But its all cool... We should probably make more trees... |
