Reads as follows;
"Hi, Larry. Thank you for your support of our military men and women. I would have written sooner, but I just got back from 2 weeks TDY in Guam and read the Jan 10 Town Times--the story about WPD's "drive to support troops." As a former infantryman, combat veteran, and now Chaplain to 700 of the finest citizen soldiers heading to the Middle East for the second time in as many years, let me say how much we appreciate your service. The encouragement from a care package, a note of appreciation, or just a connection with someone who cares, can make all the difference in the world. Please tell your friends and colleagues, "Thank you for being with us." You don't have to be in the sandbox to be in this war; you're in this war right where you are. I have seen problems with family, friends, & romances at home stop the war downrange. And I've seen care packages from folks like you boost soldiers' morale enough to get them through some of the toughest of times. In the Army, the motto of the Rangers is "Rangers Lead the Way!" So, to all of you in WPD, thanks for being Connecticut's "Rangers" in the support of our warriors. Gil, WHS class of '79"
