I have twice now tried to grow cabbage from seed with only limited success. The first batch were sown in cells then thinned to one plant per cell. All was going well, the seed leaves appeared no problems then all of a sudden the leaves shriveled and then the complete seedling collapsed. The second batch went the same way but I planted them in a tray. They were not in a propogater just in the cells and trays then into the greenhouse.Red drum head and greyhound are the varieties. This only happens to my cabbages, all my other seedlings are fine.I am being told to buy them as plug plants, but I am determined to get it right, more satisfying when you grow from seed.....or is that just me? |
