Jonny Sinister found dead !
Original Bass player Johnny Sinister was found dead in the river on Sunday ; he had been missing for 3 weeks . We are gutted to lose one of the originals ! The naked bass player was a legend and helped build Assert through the hard times and the good from 94-2002. We wll miss you Jon.

From the Silent Fifth Member of Assert Ray The burner (IT Tech To Assert) To Jons Family, Friends, Ryan, Britt and the Assert Members. Very very sorry to receive this electronic mail confirming Jons Departure from this Earth. Words can never cover the loss of a friend, a family member or band member. I wish Jons family strength love and my heartfelt words on this sad news before me. Sadness bereavement and despair are not words that cover this event, there are no words. Let us pray for Jons family and pull together with the support which we have as the team we are and help all we can. Words cannot comprehend this tragedy. We no longer have Jon and are without the words to shed how we feel but we have our strength together. I did not meet Jon, however Britt is a close friend of some years now and Ryan of many years. Passionate motivated and caring men. I have seen how you have both reacted and heard the growing concerns from both of you. You were both worried and almost knew the outcome. I felt this deeply in your anghst and hidden turmoil for answers. As a friend to you both I hold out both hands to do what I can and also I hold out my hands To Jons family as part of the Assert team. I am one and am here for you all. The little one Zah who is away and a big fan of the band as is Josh at her school and the many others where she goes to school who are Assert Fans will feel this too as musicians are idols in the eyes of the young. We are not immortal but music is passionate and life flowing and inspiring to all. Engulfing and encompassing to those who know and feel music. As a bass player of many years I will play a track tonight in respect. Bass guitar keeps all together and is A LOUD INSTRUMENT and with respect Jon RIP. I'm so sorry about this tragic outcome, not nice to find out the way i did from bulletin either. I have fond memories of Jon, we got on well & he was a nice person to know. My thoughts are with his family & closest friends. |

Having known Jon since I was 14 and having been a member of the band as well I was quite sad to see the news of his departure. He will be sadly missed by all I'm sure. Hope the rest of you guys are doin ok? Look after yourselves..............Andy |
