This is a very broad subject, but let me assure you that any surfacing that you were capable of doing in V4 can be done in V5. Most of the command inputs are the same, only the Interface and some naming has changed. V5 has capabilities that V4 never had, but it requires an in-depth study of the tool set. A Mid Curve is a curve that is used to control the behavior and shape of a surface, and is located between and somewhat parallel to the Boundary Curves, and also are in contact and somewhat perpendicular to the Generating Curves. A key relationship to be aware of is that the Mid Curves must be in contact with the generating curves, and that the Spine must be perpendicular to each of the Generating Curve support planes. The Tangent Intercept curve represents where the focus of the conic sections of a surface lie. If you extrapolate the surfaces that you are trying to join until they intersect and create a Curve1+Intersect curve, you have created a Tangent Intercept. Once you get this concept down, you can venture into the concept of Conic Surfaces that use this resultant curve to control the tension of the surface. Tesselate the surface via Imagine and Shape WB and then Power Fit via Quick Surface Reconstruction WB.

NET1 allows you to generate and modify the focal points for the surface tension, tangency and patch curvature. This is very useful for revising 'dirty' surfaces that will not offset into solids, keeping in mind that tiny deviations from the original contour will occur.

- How does Class A surface get created in CATIA V5?
You will need to take a class and partner with a mentor to gain the answer to that question. Class A Surfacing is highly technical and requires an artistic eye, and I could not do it justice in a simple answer. Take a Maya or Alias Studio class and then transfer what you learn there to Catia by learning the Catia Workbenches.

Yes, in GSD use Insert+Law. You will find that it is extremely similar to V4. The Law can be based on numeric input, or a Sketch defining a baseline and delta curves.

Assuming that you are referring to AC3, consider it Freestyle with history.

A Reflect line is also known as a Horizon Line and is critical to adding Draft to Forgings and Castings. This represents where a draft of a specified angle will be tangent to the original undrafted wall. The curve created by this tangency condition is called a reflect line. For a simple example, lay a Cylinder on its side and shine a flashlight at the side of it on your desk. Where the light turns to shadow, this is the Reflect Line. If you change the angle from which the light is being shone, the Reflect Line will move. Generally, the Reflect Lline is based on the Die Pulling Direction, but not always.
