After putting off the decision for several years, I’ve finally decided to part with my Yaesu Twins, FL-101 transmitter, FR-101S receiver, and SP-101B speaker that I bought new directly from Japan in 1977 while I was living and working in Bermuda. Some other old timers may have worked me from there as WA1RFM/VP9.
The FL-101 has a new driver and two new finals installed; used tubes provided as spares.
Optional Datong speech processor installed.
The FR-101S Receiver works as it should, except for the s-meter (agc voltage is developed, but meter coil open). Filters installed for 250 Hz, 600 Hz, 2.4 kHz, and 6.0 kHz. An 1800Hz filter from W4ML is also installed; selectable from the front panel, in series with the other filters. Crystal added in 31M band slot to tune 10.0 – 10.5 MHz for WWV. Optional 2 and 6 meter converters are installed and the optional FM discriminator board is installed.
This equipment comes from a non-smoking household and all three pieces are in very good condition with only minor nicks. Included are all interconnect cables, the original manuals, schematics, and W4ML FT Newsletters from Jan 1977 – Oct 1980. Asking $550 for the pair and speaker. Prefer pickup in Mystic, CT, will deliver within 100 miles for $25 gas money, or will have them at Dayton Hamvention in May. 73, Bill K1EV
